Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Foundation’s partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides structured substance use support without an overnight stay. Services focus on substance use disorders first and also address co-occurring mental health needs.

Benefits of PHP integrated treatments

PHP can be an appropriate option for adults who benefit from structured daily care. Considered a step-down strategy from hospitalization, the patient commutes to and from their home (or home base) rather than staying overnight at the main campus near Minneapolis, Minnesota. The program operates during daytime hours for several hours a day, most days of the week.

Support for substance use and mental health disorders

People in intensive outpatient programs (IOP) may live with substance use disorders, behavioral health conditions or both. By pairing mental health treatment with outpatient addiction services, you may uncover contributing issues and begin the recovery journey.

Led by licensed clinicians, our PHP programming includes evidence-based, dual diagnosis approaches such as CBT and DBT. Additional partial hospitalization services may include:

  • Admissions assessments
  • Psychoeducational and experiential therapies
  • Medication management
  • Age-specific addiction intervention
  • Cognitive processing therapy
